About Ms. Taylor

This is Ms. Taylor's fourth year at DMMS. Before her time here, she had the opportunity to accompany, direct, and perform in various vocal ensembles.

From 2010-2015, Ms. Taylor was a Music Director for North of the River Jr. Theatre in Bakersfield, CA. In 2015, she moved to Orange County to study conducting and music education at Cal State University Fullerton with two of the country's top choral experts, Dr. Christopher Peterson and Dr. Rob Istad. While there (2015-2018), she became an expert at vocal anatomy, technique, and performance practice and took interest in changing adolescent voices; she also regularly attended and participated in Conducting master classes. During her studies, she taught private voice and piano to all ages (from 3 years old to seniors!), where she applied much of her research on vocal pedagogy.

Before relocating to Riverside County, she was assistant conductor and Soprano Section Leader at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish in Irvine, CA. She is still a substitute conductor for several churches in Orange County, and will occasionally sing in short-contract gig work. Ms. Taylor is a member of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), American Choral Director's Association (ACDA), and the California Choral Director's Association (CCDA). As a performer, Ms. Taylor is a featured soloist for two albums: How to Go On (Choral Arts Initiative) and Quest for Proctor John (ScienceNV, a progressive rock band).
